West Nile Virus
Mosquito surveillance
- 53,946 Culex spp. from 43 agencies in 34 counties pooled into 1,244* samples.
- 5 West Nile virus positive mosquito samples from 4 counties – Delaware (1), Franklin (2), Medina (1), and Ross (1).
* In addition to samples tested by the Ohio Department of Health, Franklin County Public Health, Columbus Public Health, Licking County Health Department, and Toledo Area Sanitary District also test some of their samples.
Human surveillance
- 0 West Nile virus cases.
- 0 West Nile virus asymptomatic viremic blood donors.
- 0 West Nile virus asymptomatic viremic organ donors.

- 2 dengue virus cases: 2 females and 0 males, median age 66 years, traveled to – Argentina (1) and Costa Rica (1).

- 32 malaria cases: 10 females and 22 males, median age 34 years, traveled to – Cameroon (3), Cote d’Ivoire (1), Democratic Republic of the Congo (3), Ecuador (3), Equatorial Guinea (1), Ethiopia (1), Ghana (1), Guinea (1), India (1), Kenya (2), Liberia (1), Nigeria (2), Sierra Leone (9), Tanzania (2), and Uganda (1).
