What livestock is raised in Ohio?

Ohio farmers raise a variety of livestock. By sheer numbers, the most numerous livestock is poultry, with 29 million layers and 17 million broilers raised in 2017. Hogs come in second, with farmers producing 2.6 million in 2017. Farmers also raised 1.6 million cattle, including beef and milk, in 2017. These numbers reflect a massive 180% increase in poultry production, a 51% increase in hog production, and an 8% decrease in cattle production compared to 1997.
