an array of asparagus on a pink background zucchini in a basket

Almost every specialty crop is grown in Ohio! Farmers in the state produce the largest variety of crops—No 4 in the country behind California, Florida, and Michigan. Ohio's diverse soils, climate, typography, water resources, and even demographics make it possible to grow grapes along Lake Erie, muck crops like celery in northwest Ohio, tobacco along the Ohio River in southern Ohio, and almost every other fruit and vegetable from asparagus to zucchini.
