Biochar is a carbon-rich material that, when applied to agricultural fields, can improve soil quality. This substance can also capture and store carbon, which may help mitigate climate change. Pyrolysis, the process used to create biochar, also results in clean energy, biogas, and bio-oil, which can be used for heating and electricity.
